Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what data Design Bridge for Jira ("Design Bridge", "the app", "we", "us") handles, why, and your choices. Design Bridge is provided by TALONOID Technologies Private Limited ("TALONOID"). The app runs on Atlassian Forge and is installed into your Atlassian (Jira Cloud) site.
In short: we store metadata only — the design links you add, the version you pin, and a rendered snapshot image. We never store a copy of your full Figma file or Miro board, and we run no analytics on your design content.
1. What we collect
Design Bridge collects only what it needs to embed and pin designs inside Jira issues:
- Atlassian issue context — the issue and project identifiers where you add a design, and your Atlassian account identifier, provided to the app by Forge so it can show the right design on the right issue.
- Design links you add — the Figma file URLs or Miro board URLs you paste into an issue, plus the pinned version reference for each.
- Your Figma OAuth token — when you connect Figma, the resulting access token is stored securely by Atlassian Forge's encrypted storage. It is scoped to your account and lets the app read only what your Figma account can already access.
- A rendered snapshot image URL — a reference to the server-side rendered image of a pinned design, which is what lets teammates view designs without a design seat.
- Basic profile handle — your Atlassian and/or Figma profile handle as returned by those platforms, used to attribute actions such as who pinned a version.
2. What we do NOT collect
- No full design files. We do not store or retain a copy of your complete Figma file or Miro board — only link metadata and a rendered snapshot of the pinned version.
- No extra PII. We do not collect personal information beyond the Atlassian/Figma profile handle described above. No emails harvested, no contact lists, no location tracking.
- No content analytics. We do not track, profile, or run analytics on the content of your designs or which designs you view.
- No third-party advertising. We do not sell data and we do not share data with advertisers.
3. How we use data
Data is used solely to provide the app's features: rendering embeds in Jira issues, pinning versions and detecting changes, pulling design comments beside the issue, rendering seat-free snapshots, and diagnosing errors you report to support. We do not use your data for any purpose unrelated to operating Design Bridge.
4. Where your data lives
Design Bridge is a Forge app. App data — issue-to-design mappings, pinned version references, snapshot URLs, and your encrypted OAuth token — is stored in Atlassian Forge's Key-Value Store on Atlassian-operated infrastructure. Because we run on Forge, your data inherits Atlassian's platform security controls and data-residency options; we do not operate a separate external database of your design metadata.
5. Third parties
To function, Design Bridge communicates with the design platforms whose links you add:
- Figma — to read files and comments you have access to, via Figma's API, using the OAuth token you authorise. See Figma's own privacy policy for how Figma handles data.
- Miro — to embed and reference boards you add. See Miro's own privacy policy for how Miro handles data.
- Atlassian — as the host platform (Forge and Jira Cloud). See Atlassian's privacy policy for platform-level handling.
We only exchange the minimum data needed to render and pin the designs you explicitly add. We do not send your data to any other third party.
6. Data retention & deletion
- App data is retained while the app is installed and while a design remains linked to an issue.
- Removing a design from an issue removes its associated metadata for that issue.
- Uninstalling Design Bridge removes the app's data, including stored links, pinned references, snapshot URLs and OAuth tokens, in line with Atlassian Forge's app-data lifecycle.
- You may revoke the app's Figma access at any time from your Figma account settings.
7. Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data, and to withdraw consent. Because Design Bridge stores minimal metadata on Atlassian infrastructure, most of these are exercised directly: uninstalling the app or removing a linked design deletes the associated data, and revoking Figma access withdraws that consent. For any request we can assist with, contact us using the details below and we will respond in line with applicable law.
8. Children's privacy
Design Bridge is a workplace tool intended for use by organisations and their staff. It is not directed to children and we do not knowingly collect data from children.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves (for example, when Confluence support or additional design tools ship). Material changes will be reflected here with an updated "Last updated" date.
